Rescued, Restored and Upgraded Washburn idol in Gloss Black
This is another example of Triage Guitar Shop of West Palm Beach Florida saving another neglected guitar from extinction.
This guitar was an empty body when acquired.
Below is a list of action taken to restore its appearance and playability:
Cleaned and polished body. Touched up a few minor dings
Mated the body with a more modern neck.
Cleaned and treated Rosewood fingerboard
Cleaned and polished frets with 0000 steel
Installed new closed chrome tuning machines
Electronics totally re-wired with shielded cable
Installed Alnico 5 magnet, 4 wire dual coil Humbucker pickups suitable for the coil splitting function controlled by independent push pull tone controls
Installed 2 full size volume and 2 push pull tone pots and 2 new .022uf capacitors
Installed 4 new Black top hat knobs
Installed large chrome mushroom head strap buttons
Installed Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings (.009-.042)
