• A mint condition, one-of-a-kind Albanus single cutaway archtop guitar.  Handmade by Carl Albanus in Chicago, who was one of the top tier luthiers of his era.  This guitar has exeptional tone and has unusually excellent sustain for an archtop.  It is easy to play and makes for an outstanding rhythm guitar having great punch.
  • Albanus guitars were the preferred instrument for Chicago studio musicians and TV network orchestras e.g. Jack Cecchini, Pat Ferreri, Ronnie Steele, George Allen & Freddy Rundquist.  These players appeared on 1000s of recordings including TV and radio commercials (thanks to reknown Chicago advertising agencies).  A notable, more widely known player was Chuck Wayne.
  • The 3" deep body has a sunburst finish, and is fully bound including the f-holes.  The tuning machines were hand-made by Albanus because he couldn't buy high ratio tuning machines.  They have the identifying "A" on them signifying that Carl Albanus made them.
  • The guitar has a flawless DeArmond 1100 chrome pickup with adjustable pole pieces.  The tailpiece and headstock are inlaid, having his name "Albanus" and the five-pointed star on the headstock.
  • The fretboard is 1 5/8" at the nut and has a 24 3/4" scale and includes the original case.
