This bass was custom-built by Ken Smith for Stanley Clarke. Clarke played this on tour with George Duke in 1981.
The images of a space dragon and space shuttle made of mother of pearl and abalone signify the year of the space shuttle launch (12th April 1981) which is the year of the bass' manufacture and of Clarke and Duke's tour.
This bass comes with a certificate of authenticity and a signed photo of Stanley Clarke featuring this bass with a few others in his collection.
The body has flamed maple facings and a mahogany core (with walnut splice).
The neck is a 5 piece flamed maple with walnut stringers and ebony fingerboard.
31" Scale length.
There is a expansive built in EQ system with drive features.
Comes with the original coffin shaped hard case.
