   The Xaviere XV-550 is a unique blend of solid body and hollowbody ~thus the semi-hollowbody name. This guitar is no longer available from the manufacturer. They discontinued it awhile ago so it's starting to get a bit rare to find. The features are usually only found on more expensive guitars. Smooth to play up and down the neck.  A great gift for someone who has a birthday coming or for the holidays! Stunning Green color. Rich red is the color on the back - nice gloss finish...

Other Specs; A solid mahogany body is routed to create a hollow interior. No wood is removed beneath the bridge and tailpiece for maximum sustain and resistance to feedback. A highly figured Quilt Maple top, housing a pair of famed GFS Alnico Humbucking pickups. The classic tone is in full effect here, from thundering lows to gutsy mids and glassy treble. Great for Pop, Blues, Rock, Jazz, and Americana... 

Tuning stability is amazing... I polished the frets just a tiny bit and conditioned the rosewood fretboard with linseed oil. I lowered the action a half turn for best ease of playing. The attention to detail on this build is phenomenal and yet the guitar is considered affordable. Free upgrade: The Humbucking Pickup cavities have been given a high quality copper shielding tape for noise cancellation properties we all appreciate.

Each XV-550 "Les Paul" Style features medium Jumbo nickel-Silver frets - leveled and dressed at the factory for great playability, and a long tenon glue-in neck. Paired with a good vacuum tube amp, the XV-550 is a supremely capable guitar. It just has singing lead capable tones. The Mother-of-Pearl Xaviere logo nicely compliments the elegant 'Stairstep' headstock. Cool feature: The GFS innovative 'Kwik-plug' system is on board therefore swapping pickups is a snap for guitar enthusiasts. Grover-style tuners. Gold Volume and Tone knobs.

Chrome hardware and vintage amber bell knobs complete the classic look. Select woods for quality, figuring and overall weight. Most XV-550's weigh in the 7 1/2-8 lb range or less. Guitar is using D'Addario Strings 9 - 42 gauge.   Verdict: This guitar is killer awesome! I nicknamed it "Greenie" in honor of Fleetwood Mac guitarist legend Peter Green.
