"Black is black. I want my baby back..."
What was Los Bravos singing about here? What is the blackness? I believe they were referring to the void, the nothingness, or the "no-thing." The void you feel when someone you loved has left you. But how can you describe the feeling as the void when you also feel something?
When you stare into this black SG your eyes are forced to focus in two directions: one is the blackness, the nothingness, the void. The infinite deepness of space.... but two, it can focus on what the void ALSO contains, which is everything. It is the no-thing and everything in existence at the same time....you see yourself in the guitar and everything else...and by this I mean that black lacquer shows EVERY imperfection, every buffer swirl mark, every spec of dust in the known Universe.
Or you can hold the guitar back a little further and take it all in...and then realize you're holding a one-of-a-kind Gibson factory modified SG Special in Ebony! How cool is that!?!?
I get it folks. I know what you want. You "players" want your hum-less pickups, big frets, your compensated nuts, your smooth, satiny finishes... Well, I say if you can't play with a wraparound bridge, a pair of P-90s and some white button tuners, well then you don't deserve to rock!
What we have here folks is a 2021 Gibson SG special in ebony, modified with cream P-90 covers, cream "poker-chip" and witch-hat knobs. And to help bring you back from the void of the black, this guitar comes equipped with "Peace" mount studs on the wraparound to, yes you guessed it, bring you to peace from the existential dread.
Included in the sale is the original shipping box, Gibson MOD-shop COA with evaluation report. And the guitar weighs in at 6lbs 2oz, so the black won't break your back.
I love SGs. I love SG specials even more. And an SG in Ebony? Folks, it doesn't get any classier than that. Ain't too many of those around. Guitar is as-is from the factory, but it is not perfect. I don't hide anything in the pictures and documentation. Solid, glossy black guitars will show every imperfection. There are plenty of streaks and marks on this guitar. You can't polish it enough. To invoke a famous movie: "don't touch it, don't even look at it!" The guitar is in very good condition and is fully functional, but if you breathe near it you'll see it on the surface.
So black is black. Do you want your baby back? If you missed out on grabbing this one before, now is your chance to have it all...and have nothing at all at the same time...
"Grey is grey, since she went away, oh oh..." How many colors are these guys going to sing about in this song??? "What can I do? Oh I-I-I-I-I...I'm feeling blue..." I wonder if that's Pelham blue? ...I'm sorry, I had to...
