Yamaha DX7 II-D:

The legendary synthesizer that defined that "glassy" FM tone

Description

The Yamaha DX7, released in 1983, hardly needs introduction. Known for the crisp, bright, and glassy tones that stood in stark contrast to the warm analog tones of the era, the DX7 was the first truly mainstream digital synthesizer. Built on the FM synthesis technology developed at Stanford by John Chowning, the DX7 was a revolution in synthesizer technology and brought into the hands of artists a world of sounds unlike anything that came before it. By virtue of its powerful and complex algorithms, you can design a huge range Of custom sounds through programming right on the keyboard. The DX7 has a really nice, iconic sound and has been used by countless artists, such as Phil Collins, A-ha, Chicago, Kool & the Gang, and more. This is the real deal if you're looking for that glassy 80s FM sound. The DX7 II-D, released in 1986,is an updated version which offers even more awesome features, such as a more robust chassis, as well as push-buttons and larger sliders for better control. Further, the patch memory has been increased from 32 to 64 voices, and the enhanced 16- bit digital sound engine (low noise). Including these improvements and others, the DX7 II-D is a fantastic follow up to a game-changing legend.

This keyboard is in very good condition and shows some signs of aging, with some scratches, coloration and scuffs. The unit has been thoroughly tested by our professional technician and works perfectly. All keys, buttons, and lights are working perfectly.
