Offering this Sony Turntable, One of the last High Quality Tables offered by a Major Manufacturer in the "end days of turntables in general.
Belt drive, often preferred bc of it's motor noise isolation qualities. Heavy Platter, S- Shaped Traditional; Tone arm and Original Magnetic Phono cartridge with the stylus. Thick Rubber Mat. Substantial Dust Cover. Overall has good weight to it. Really solid and well built.
Pitch Control on the tone arm side, strobe on the left. Traditional counterweight and balancing methods. Includes Manual and a new set of audio cables and a hank of wire for the ground post.
Might be a few other quality features I missed. I did notice that although many modern tables look great ther eis some clear cost cutting measures that have been taken.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full manual turntable, As much as it's a high quality build the cost savings in production was achieved (in my opinion) in the fact that they saved on a full automatic or auto-return mechanism. Which to me is fine - I barely even use the cueing lever (steady hands please - LOL)
If you are new to turntables - this must be used with a pice of gear that has a specific phono input or you may need to get a phono pre-amp to use with the more modern home theater receivers that eliminated phono inputs when CDs were clearly dominant.
The scariest thing about buying a pre-owned turntable online is shipping. Many just don't know how to pack properly and the unit is damaged in transit. Everyone loses and a great piece of vintage stereo gear is lost forever. The last five pictures are exactly the way I pack turntables - this is one I shipped in early October.
Everything is disassembled and packed separately to protect all the parts. these are very time consuming to pack correctly. Not even original mfg packing is enough for a common carrier handling a single piece. It takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to do correctly. With all new Bubble Wrap and boxes. (SEE MY PROFILE INFO)
AND...IT GETS A ONCE MORE CLEANUP AND FINAL TEST!
Ive gone over it and inspected everything cleaned it and even gave the dust cover a good polish with Meguire's compound and polish - there still are scratches but overall it looks awesome and presents very nicely.
