Synergy SYN-2 Rack Mount Preamp with Engl Savage Module

I purchased this SYN2 module loader and Engl Savage module, a few months ago, brand new, from Guitar Center and recently have decided to sell it, as I am mainly using my amp modeler more and this has just been sitting in a rack lately. It’s in like new condition and sounds awesome going into a tube power amp or for recording directly into a DAW with the cab sim engaged. I paid close to $1300 for both items with tax and all and feel $1100 is a fair asking price.

The 2 voicings on this Engl module both sound very tight and articulate when cranking the gain; you can have searing gain with a string-to-string clarity in your playing. It’s also all tube driven tone with two 12ax7s giving you the gain staging. It was also designed by Horst Langer who works for Engl and he made the original Engl Savage. Many reviews state this module sounds very close to the actual head. I mostly enjoy the blue channel with a boost in front for heavy high gain rhythm tones. The red channel gets you into Mesa Recto territory without all the fizzy gain and loose feel. Very versatile high gain piece of gear in this one module.

There is an extra slot for a second Synergy Module and there are several preamp models available, such as Friedman, Fryette, Bogner and many other big name amp designs. They’re all designed by those amp manufacturers as well, so you’re getting a legit tube preamp from the amp designers at those companies and not Synergy’s rendition.

I noticed on the back there is a little bit of bubbling of the plastic strip cover near the XLR outputs. You can sort of see it in my close up pic of the rear of the unit, focusing on the XLR outs. It doesn’t effect anything and is purely cosmetic. Just trying to be transparent as possible. I think they just screwed it down too tight or something at the factory. It’s barely noticeable imo.
