Fender Custom Shop 1964 Stratocaster Anniversary Closet Classic, 2013 Custom Shop Build, Serial # L10666, with Josefina Campos hand wound '64 Black Bobbin Pickups signed by Josefina, ordered from the Fender Custom Shop, Corona, CA, in mid 2013, delivered late 2013. I am the original and only owner.

This Stratocaster’s body finish is a three, almost four color sunburst, thin nitro cellulose lacquer with CS light relic, the neck has no relic work and a gloss finish, as per my order instructions. This Stratocaster is an amazing copy by the Custom Shop of my original ’64 Stratocaster. Custom Shop nickel chrome hardware is very slightly dulled.

Hand-wound ’60-’64 Black Bobbin Pickups by Josefina Campos, signed 11/1/13. If you go to the Fender website there is great article and page devoted to Josefina Campos, Google her, she is a treasure.

The neck is 1.649" wide and .854" deep, from the fret to the back of the neck at the first fret, and 2.022" wide and .951" deep from the fret to the back of the neck at the twelfth fret, 7.25" radius is true to early '60s C shaped rosewood slab maple neck of that time period.

There are some small scratches or marks, light relic from the Custom Shop, and a very small dent breaking the finish on top side/back of the body, it is currently sealed with wax to protect body and surrounding finish, rosewood fret board is flawless, the neck is straight, and is scratch, dent, and mark free.

The frets show almost no wear, I noticed 1st and 2nd fret G and B string marks, they were to small to photograph with my iPhone 14 Pro, there is no other visible fret wear, and no fret board wear at all, the nut is perfect, beautifully hand crafted, has no low spots, and the electronics are all original and clean and quiet, the wiring is flawless, and is an excellent example of why the Custom Shop build is worth the money. Stratocaster has new Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalts 9-42, I prefer Elixir, just my preference. These EB Colbalts sound great.

This ’64 Strat comes with an original Brown period correct G&G Tolex and leather style gold plush case, and all the original parts, all Fender accessories, COA paperwork, hang tag, etc. are included.

This 64’ Stratocaster has only been played in my studio by myself, has rarely left the studio, except for tech shops work, never used on stage, and is been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled vault, when not being played, for the last 10 years.

Now about the minor customization and modifications:

Fender Vintage Kluson relic reproduction tuners were replaced with NOS Shaller Tuners, I helped bring Shaller to America in the late 1960s, so all my guitars get Schallers.

The factory machine milled nut was replaced with a handmade Bob Colosi, Custom Guitar Saddles by my tech, (guitarsaddles dot com), organic natural material nut.

Modern saddles from Fender Custom Shop for hand palm comfort.

Enhanced Callaham tremolo block, springs, and Fender Stainless Steel Tremolo Arm with extended threads, Callaham extra springs included and a spring ball tremolo setup for stability, (callahamguitars dot com).

All the original parts, tuners, bridges, are included to return guitar to original delivered condition if desired.

This ’64 Strat has only been worked on by two guitar techs over the last 10 years: Norik Renson, Renson Guitar Shop, Studio City, CA. (Eagles, John Mayer, Walsh, Felder, Clapton, Leadon), and Seth Mayer at California Vintage Guitars, Sherman Oaks, CA.

I take preservation and constant maintenance of my collection very seriously, and spare no expense on care and preservation. Please contact me here for any question about this guitar....
