The Yamaha FSC-TA TransAcoustic is a guitar that's made to mesmerize. It offers real chorus and reverb without amplification. This isn't a digital simulation—Yamaha's technology reflects the natural vibration of the strings back into the body of the guitar. While it might sound like a magic trick, the TransAcoustic is no one-trick pony. Quality tonewoods and a cutaway provide an enhanced playing experience for all skill levels. Available now at Guitar Center, the Yamaha FSC-TA might just become the next go-to in your acoustic arsenal.
Yamaha FSC-TA TransAcoustic Main Features- TransAcoustic System 70 with adjustable reverb and chorus, piezo pickup with line out and volume control
- Spruce top, mahogany back and sides with a cutaway
- Nato neck with C-shape profile, rosewood fretboard
- Die-cast chrome tuners
If you've ever played a gig in an acoustically dead room, the TransAcoustic provides a solution. It has an actuator on the interior which mechanically flexes the back of the guitar as you play. The result is real reverb and chorus—without amplification. Select "Hall" reverb for a concert hall sound, "Room" reverb for the ambience of a more intimate space, or "Chorus" to thicken the tone with a slight delay. Each effect can be dialed up or down with thumbwheel controls; a piezo pickup and a line out make it easy to plug in to a PA.
A Cutaway That Goes All the WayLead guitarists will appreciate the cutaway on this Yamaha acoustic, which offers easier access to the high registers for single-note soloing. Or, play first-position D and G chords at the 14th fret, letting the open strings ring for a mandolin effect. Either way, a cutaway gives you other sonic options.
Well-balanced BodyThis Yamaha has a concert-sized body that's bigger than a parlor, but smaller than a dreadnought. It's a versatile shape with a focused sound. The spruce top lends extra snap to every note; the mahogany back and sides emphasize the midrange. Concert-style acoustics are great for recording because you'll hear bass without the boom, making the FSC-TA superb for the studio.
A Neck to (Be)HoldYamaha specs nato for the neck. Denser than mahogany, nato is a more ecological option with exceptional stability. It pairs with a traditional rosewood fretboard. The C-shape neck profile is a comfortable fit for all-sized fingers.
Other high-quality features include die-cast chrome tuners and cream body binding. A case is available separately.
