This guitar teleports you to the American 1950’s when you first lay hands on it! It’s as old as the earliest music from Elvis, Carl Perkins, and Ricky Nelson, and it completely encapsulates the sound and vibe of that time. It’s ready to cut tracks directly to wax at Sun Studios. Amazing that it’s come come all that way from that time and it’s still shredding like an absolute beast!

The guitar plays fantastic. The neck is super straight and plays effortlessly all the way up and down with low action. It gets that solid rockabilly rhythm chunk, it would be a great frontperson’s guitar, but the action is low enough to shred some Stray Cats leads. It’s a really comfortable feel in your hand that makes you feel like Roy Orbison taking the stage, I love guitars that simplify overthought parts into just the core of what they should be.

The headstock is the early decorative version of this model, which is just about as cool as it gets in my opinion. It’s just so rad, and the artwork is in particularly good condition!

The Speedbump pickups are totally killer. Neck pickup gets that 50’s gulpy rhythmic sound, bridge has a bit of cutting twang but is still full and woody. I love the layout of the electronics, on some of the other Silvertone guitars I always hit the switches and knobs, but on this one they’re very nicely placed to be easily accessible but not in the way. Tuners tune very nicely, the guitar is a really healthy guitar!

This guitar shines as an acoustic songwriting guitar just like it does as an electric performing and recording guitar. It has the size of a dreadnaught, and it sounds awesome and feels inspiring just writing parts on it on the couch (I know because I have done this)!

Overall it’s in totally fantastic condition for the age, it plays like a dream. I believe that tailpiece is a replacement. It has some obvious finish wear and natural crazing to the original clear coat, but that’s the vibe! I just had a pro luthier reset the neck, rework the bridge for maximum contact with the top, do some fretwork, and make sure it's ready for the stage and the studio. The neck reset is perfect, it's a phenomenal guitar now! Comes with a really nice modern hard shell case that fits it perfectly. Fantastic guitar!
