Drake Custom Model 45 Bass 2022, Matte natural, 34 scale, Aguilar pickups and preamp

Drake Custom 5 string bass guitarThis handmade bass was made this year (2022) and was completed at the end of July.  The bass represents my standard Model 4 design in 5 string configuration (hence Model 45). 
NECKThe neck construction is of a single piece of quartered roasted Maple.  I only make necks using this wood as it is stable and rigid, when cut this way.  I do install carbon fiber and a dual action truss rod to ensure that the neck remains rigid and allows for precise relief adjustment.  The black Richlite fret board is cut for 34 inch scale and has 24 frets.  I use small gauge stainless steel frets as standard.  Blue Luminlay side dots (they glow faint blue in the dark).  The peghead veneer and oval inlays are made of Bubinga wood.  The nut is made of Tusq and the neck back is finished with hard wax oil finish.   BODYI made the body with simple Alder wood, which has a nice recognizable tone.  It is a 2 piece body and it is topped with quartered Bubinga wood.  The top and peghead veneer are made from the same billet, so the color is a perfect match.  I finished the body and peghead face, with matte sheen polyurethane.ELECTRONICSThe electrics package consists of Aguilar brand DCB (Bar magnet) pickups which are full range pickups with lots of output.  The preamp is a 3 band Aguilar OBP-3.  The switches are bypass and mid freq shift.  My standard package.  I have the bass wired as Volume, blend, global tone control, along with the Treb, Mid,Bass controls.  18 volts.HARDWAREThis bass is equipped with Hipshot brand A style bridge (aluminum) and standard Hipshot tuners.  I use Dunlop brand strap locks and the strap gear in included. UPDATE: This bass now has a ramp made of matching wood used in the top of the bass. It can be removed without damage to the top. Dimensions and weightThis bass weighs in at 9.5 pounds.  About like a Jazz bass.  The nut width is 1.75" or 44.46mm.  The body width is about 13.5"  This bass fits in most fit all style hard cases.I include a Mono brand Vertigo case with the purchase of this bass.
