This cool 1966 Truetone Vanguard is in very good condition. This guitar shows play wear and age throughout including some nicks and dings around the edges of the body, some pick scratches on the pickguard and some light finish checking. This guitar is all original throughout. The electronics are untouched and there are visible potentiometer codes that date to the 33rd week of 1966. This Vanguard has a very chunky, straight neck that feels nice and is easy to play. The fret wire shows light play wear and the fingerboard is very clean. This guitar plays very good up and down the fingerboard. Both pickups in this guitar sound pretty great and deliver some stellar lo-fi blues tones through a broken up amp. With the action raised, this Truetone would make an exceptional slide guitar. If you are looking for a funky, totally playable, vintage instrument for not a lot of dough, this Vanguard would make a fine choice!
