Vintage 1980's AKG D190ES dynamic cardioid microphone w clip & case Low Z 200 OHMS D1000E

 You are looking at a 1970's / 80's era AKG model D190ES dynamic cardioid microphone made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with most good dynamic microphones you could possibly think of from that era. If you have never heard one of these before...they sound quite lovely and have a frequency range of 30 - 15,000 HZ. This mic comes with the mic clip shown as well as it's case in which to store.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model and it's basic characteristics from an old AKG catalog. The D190ES came with the on / off switch as where the regular D190E did not. The D190E model was basically a D1000E without the bass drop off lever. Both mics utilized the exact same low impedance dynamic cardioid element however. Rated at 200 OHMS. If you like the sound of the E.V 635A then you will probably love this D190E model as the two are very similar in sound.

 The D190ES has a warm, smooth tone that is excellent for singing and broadcasting. Quite exceptional and the signal is very strong. Much stronger signal if you use an XLR to 1/4 inch cable however.

 The AKG mics were almost always very high quality and known for their durability and superb sound.

 As you can see there is virtually no wear on the painted finish of this mic. It's free of any scratches, scuff marks, dents or fractures. The front screen is metal and has a classic mid century look. There is no tarnish or dents on the front bezel. It has been thoroughly cleaned and free of any odor.

 This D190E did need a new inner pop filter as the original was gone. I installed one. It works great keeping those dreaded "pops" away you get from breathing or heavy wind. The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out any background noise. Again...a superb mic for any live performance and worth every penny.

 The mic comes with an aftermarket Audix model mic clip that works very well for this mic. Grips the mic firmly and looks just as nice as the mic. Will screw onto any desk or floor stand as well. The mic clip shows lite wear. Iy has a large thumb screw on the side so that you may easily adjust the tension and angle.

 The original mic case is included and in very good shape. The inner foam will keep the mic safe and snug and the top lid snaps closed to keep the contents from coming out. A nice accessory to have as well for resale purposes.

 Mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not included but they are extremely easy to find and cheap to buy.

 Overall I would rate this mic an 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department but I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got decades of life left in her. If you want a classic AKG mic that few others have with superb sound then this will do you justice. This mic will only go up in value due to rarity and quality build.
