Here we have a stunning 1984 Gibson Citation in a very attractive Amber Sunburst finish. Since their beginnings Gibson has been known to produce some of the world's finest Archtop Guitars and the Citation's were created to showcase their finest craftsmanship and they only produced a few Citation's a year making them instantly sought after. These guitars were given the executive treatment as Gibson's luthiers only used handpicked tone woods being trimmed out by 24 Karat Gold plated hardware, hand inlaid pearl fleur-de-lis accents and hand inlaid pearl cloud/big block inlays on the fretboard. This example sports a hand carved Spruce top, a solid flamed Maple back and sides, a jet black Ebony fretboard, and a hand made solid flamed Maple pickguard. It features a 17" lower bout width, 12 1/2" upper bout width, 25 1/12" scale length, 1-11/16ths nut width, 1st fret neck depth of .79", a 9th fret neck depth of .93", a floating mini humbucker reading 14.35K, and a weight of 7 lbs and 1 oz. The neck profile is a wonderful medium/thin C shape and fits in the hand like a glove. This Citation was completed on June 25th 1984 and is in fantastic shape for being nearly 40 years old showing only a few nicks and dings other than three professionally repaired top cracks. There is some minor finish cracking mainly at the 1st fret area where the fretboard meets the neck and at the neck joint but none of this is structural and is completely sound otherwise. The guitar appears to be completely original and it comes as shown with the original red lined Gibson hard shell case. These guitars are very rare and extremely hard to come by as they rarely leave collection but now is your chance to own one of Gibson's finest examples of luthier craftsmanship and overall just an incredible Archtop!
