Joe Till Guitars
Model: TG-521 no. 3

This is about my 300th guitar, but it is the 3rd edition of my new TG-521 model. And the first to feature a 25 1/2 inch scale. I completed it last year.

The top and back were salvaged from a pair of antique cabinet doors. I'm told it's English Walnut, but I am not certain of that. The thin dark band between the caps and Alder core is Indian Rosewood veneer.

The very curly maple and black walnut neck is glued into the body to the back of the neck pickup cavity for a solid connection. The upper fret access is so good that I might go 24 frets next time. This one has 22 jumbo frets on a generously spreckled birdseye maple fretboard with abalone dots.

Seymour Duncan SH-1 "'59" (neck) and SH-4 "JB" (bridge). A Three-way Grigsby pickup selector switch with a push-push volume pot for splitting.

I have seriously considered nabbing this one as my own regular player, but that won't happen until someone buys my current player. Besides everything else, I like the way the guitar balances across my shoulders and back. The extended top horn kind of shifts the whole guitar to the right, making open chords easier to reach than some guitars. The neck is on the fat side with nicely rounded edges.

I've linked a video of this guitar. It may not look like it, but I'm really enjoying myself - in spite of all the reverb.

I'm listing this in "Mint" condition because I do play this one occasionally in my shop. But I'm looking at it right now and it's in fine shape, plus, I'll give it a good going over before shipping it off.

I think I will change the knobs to a pair of my own that I've recently started making - wood with brass sleeves.

I always encourage a back and forth conversation with anyone who's interested in my guitars. For one thing, I don't offer returns or refunds. But also because I'm the builder. It just seems like we should at least say hi.

Full price sale gets a new Roadrunner case. If you make an offer, that will be negotiable.

Thanks for looking.
