Gibson Gibson Custom Shop Double Carve (DBLC) '58 Les Paul Pilot Run #13 of 25 2009 Burst

We present to you this fantastic 2009 Double-Carve R8 Les Paul from the Gibson Custom Shop. Being number 13 in the initial pilot run of 25, this is a special piece that looks and sounds fantastic. The Double-Carve Les Paul’s have an interesting tonal profile that sounds like a cross between an ES-335 and a traditional solid-body LP. This is due to the maple cap having a mirrored bottom carve (hence the name) that creates a small chamber between the top and mahogany body, giving the guitar an injection of warm, sonorous hollow-body tone while still channeling a traditional vintage 'Burst spirit. A wider spectrum of overtones and harmonics are produced as a consequence of the underside top carve, but the guitar still retains the solidity of the lows and mids that are often diminished in fully-chambered bodies.

Equipped with traditional R8 appointments and a gorgeous top, this is a rare model that strikes a unique and perfect sonic balance between fully-chambered and solid-body Gibson. A must have for any lover of Gibson guitars!
