This is a fully assembled and working 5 watt BUD guitar kit amp, sold by Tube Depot. I had the hankering to put one of these fine kits together and it came out perfectly.
It has single 12AX7-R and EL84-R Groove Tubes and a 10” Jensen MOD speaker in a 12”x12"x12" cube enclosure. I added the grill, legs and distressed paint to give it a furniture feel. In a word it sounds fantastic! I modified it slightly to maintain clarity below ½ volume, then the break-up comes on nicely at the 3/4 mark.
This is a great sounding and attractive small watt tube amp that make all the right sounds at a reasonable volume- it won’t scare the neighbors when you go for that extra crunchy push. It would be great around the house and to record with.
