Bloom is my take on rare and discontinued Bixonic™️ Expandora. Standard Expandora had 2 switches to dial in different settings, in Bloom it was replaced with the one rotary switch. Voice switch is another mod that was added, it allows selecting different clipping options: Silicon diodes (like in original), LEDs, and NOS (new old stock) Germanium diodes.
Controls:
- Gain - the amount of drive.
- Tone - controls treble frequency response.
- Volume - effect output level.
- Voice switch - a selection of tree clipping options: Silicon, LED, or Germanium diodes.
- Mode switch - 4 modes selection: Overdrive, Crunch, Distortion, Fuzz (forbidden setting in original Expandora).
- Fat switch - output bass filtering: Classic (Expandora Guitar instrument setting), Tight and Fat (Expandora Bass instrument setting).
- LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB trimmer allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
Power Supply: 9V DC adapter (Boss-style negative center) not included. No batteries. They are bad for the environment 🌲.
