Not sure where to start with this one, I've tried to do research online about this thing but the best I could find was that this is "possibly" a 1920-1930s Oscar Schmidt Cello Archtop. Extremely rare and a work of art. The guitar is in good shape for being almost 100 years old. There are some minor problems with it, such as a crack on the side and on the top treble side near the waist, small ding on the side that is almost through the wood. The treble side fingerboard binding is partially missing. The top on the bass side near the neck is lifting a little. The tuners are not original, the neck heel appears to have had a repair done at some point, there is also one replacement screw on the pickguard. That being said there are other signs of age such as scratches and small dings/marks here and there. The neck is not twisted, there is no truss rod, there is some relief from string tension. All of these flaws have been there for years and have not progressed. Its been played and enjoyed, the action is good on it. It plays, with a little fretwork it would be a great player. The fretboard and headstock overlay appears to be Brazilian Rosewood. One could restore it or play as is, a truly rare piece and you wont see another like it. Comes with a nice Guardian hard shell case. About 14.5 inches on the lower bout and 3.25 inches deep on the sides. Im not sure if it is a laminate or solid wood construction, i would assume laminate.
