This stunning instrument is #220 of the 300 Limited Edition guitars made between 1990 and 1991. This run of guitars directly followed Paul's original Signature Series and were effectively considered the continuation of that series. Like the Signature Series, these were all hand signed and numbered by Paul himself. In my opinion, they are about as collectible as any PRS is or will be. Compare them to today's private stocks and they're insane bargains but I digress.
The top is old growth redwood, like most from the series, and better flamed than most others I've seen. Amber burst. Semi-hollow with tone chambers. It has the original tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, which was another defining aspect of this series. The tuners are locking PRS, in gold. Fretboard is amazing Brazilian rosewood. Pickups are original and appropriately marked as limited edition treble and bass. It has the small heel and bird inlays.
The guitar is mint, especially considering it is 32 years old. No real oxidation on any of the parts, no dings, no scratches, no real visible wear anywhere. The only things I can find are one tiny chip in the clearcoat right at the side of the nut and maybe a little rubbing off of the gold on the edge of the tuno-matic. Let's call it a 9.98 out of 10. The original owner was an acoustic player who essentially bought this and used it at home once and a while. I have treated it the exact same way since I acquired it from him, always wiping it down afterward.
It will come with the original hardshell case, which has a few scratches and nicks but nothing other than the kind of wear you'd expect from 30 years of banging around in closets.
I am happy to take additional photos of any part of the guitar or case you'd like to see.
