2005 Matamp GT100 - 100w EL34 - 1 of 2 in the world - Made for Wishbone Ash + signed by Andy Powell

This is a Matamp GT100 head made specifically for the band Wishbone Ash in 2005 (as shown on the engraved backplate). This is one of 2 amps produced for them and they are the only two to have this voicing. These were produced to sound like the old Ormat Orange heads that Wishbone Ash used to play. 

Not long after I acquired the amp, Wishbone Ash actually played in nearby Milwaukee. I got in contact with the band and explained that I'd like founding singer and guitarist, Andy Powell to inspect and sign the amp. They agreed. And after a great set in an intimate venue, I met the band (who were also using vintage Oranges) and talked to Andy. he confirmed that the amp was built for the band and remembered really liking them. A quick chat, a handshake, and a signature and everything about the amp checked out.

This is a Master Volume amp. 100 Watts with a switch in the back to take it down to half power for "bedroom" playing but if you're looking at this then we both know that's not why you get a Matamp. It can be clear as a bell and loud, have crunchy distortion, or be a full on foundation-shaking doom with a fuzz pedal and the volume cranked.

Functionally perfect, it has needed nothing my time of ownership. Cosmetically very good, with some minor signs of use. The only issue to mention is that at some point in its previous ownership, the headshell was repaired. There is a hardly visible seam along one edge on the side of the amp. This is not noticeable when the amp is setup and it all feels as rock solid as it would have when new.

Only selling this piece of rock history to fund another dream amp.
