I believe this is a 1959 Supro 1606.  Belonged to my grandfather. Not sure if he bought it new, but I know it was his back as far as the early 60s.

I’m guessing 1959 based on the speaker. It’s a Rola speaker dated 52 week of 1958.

I really don’t know much about old tube amps, so you’ll need to look at the pics of the tubes and wiring to determine for yourself how original that may be.

The good:  it works.  Both inputs work. It has the usual electrical buzz you hear that gets quiet when you actually touch the strings.  Again, I’m no expert on vintage amps, so I can’t guarantee it’s in 100% working order, but it appears to function as I’d expect an old amp to.

the ok: speaker grill is in good shape. No dents or tears in the mesh, however I’m assuming it was once covered in a slight fuzzy black material that is disintegrating. The logo is in decent shape.

The wiring inside looks untouched to me, but as you can in the pics, the original end of the cord must have gotten damaged and a replacement end was installed (yes it’s a classic electrical tape job). So it’d be a good candidate for a grounded cord conversion.

The bad: It’s ugly. The top metal section where the volume knob and inputs are has some of the finish flaking away and there looks to have been some paint blobbed/dripped in that area as well. He smoked like a chimney so there are what appear to be burn marks in a few places presumably from ashes, and it’s a little yellowed (either from age or smoke). It’s got it’s share of bruises. Pics should show all you need to judge it.

I do know the on/off/volume knob is not original. It’s an aftermarket replacement I got on eBay a few years ago.

please feel free to ask any questions or make an offer for negotiating. NOT LOOKING FOR ANY TRADES

I’m estimating shipping to be $65. If it’s less I will refund, if it looks to be significantly more, we can discuss before going forward.
