Here we have a truly legendary model from the Fender Custom Shop: the "Aloha" Strat, built in honor of Hawaiian musician and Fender employee Freddie Tavares. Born in Maui in 1913, Tavares not only laid down a career as a studio musician for Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin and many others, but also worked with Leo Fender on the design of the Stratocaster. Today it is believed that he was mainly responsible for the tremolo system. In 1995, five years after his death, the Custom Shop released the Tribute Strat, limited to only 153 copies, of which we can offer you No. 29. Body and pickguard are made of aluminum and were decorated with Hawaiian engravings by artist and luthier Ron Chacey. Inlay specialist Larry Sifel finished the Birdseye maple neck with palm tree and aloha inlays. In addition to its value as a work of art, however, we're also dealing with an unbelievable player experience. Dry, the Aloha Strat is almost reminiscent of a Dobro with an amazingly loud and resonant fundamental sound. At the amp this becomes noticeable with a fast attack and above-average sustain. The Lace Sensor singlecoils do a great job here and bring out the unique character of the guitar without sounding harsh. The neck also plays very comfortably with its slim profile, so we are not dealing with a pure collector's item here. If you dare to play this guitar, you will have a lot of fun! Apart from slight oxidation marks on the body (see pictures) the guitar is in top condition as it has hardly been taken out of the case at all over the years. All case candy is still in untouched condition. A rare opportunity to get hold of a special piece of Fender history!
