Vintage 1960's Turner S510 / 500 dynamic cardioid Satin Chrome Low Z microphone w accessories

 You are looking at a very interesting and beautiful Turner model S-500 Dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1960's complete with an original mic clip, mic cover and cable in which to operate as well as the vintage mic case and original data sheet.

 Turner came out with this 500 model series of mic in the 1960's and was part of their modern line up of hand held mics intended to compete with the heavy hitters such as Shure Brothers And Electro Voice. It was a very practical design being easy to hold and had a very nice sound overall. Probably not as good as the Shure 545 of that period or the E.V 676 but it was Turner's shining star and it's a very nice sounding mic with excellent tone. It's uni-directional as well and set at Low impedance. Just the right amount of bass.

 Pic # 3 shows this very model and it's characteristics in an old Turner catalog. Again, the original data sheet is included as seen in pic # 4 which is in excellent shape and has a few pages of technical info on this microphone.

 The 500 series had a much more elegant style then the more aggressive Shure 545 and used a 4 pin XLR type connection. These mics tend to hold up very well with age so they seemed to have had a good quality build but many of these had the Turner 4 pin style cables which can be harder to come by today.

 Just as Shure Shure Brother's offered their 545 model mic with the lower pistol grip (545S) Turner did the same. I actually have a Turner 500 with the lower pistol grip for sale here on Ebay and it works great. This was the regular model handheld however.

 This S-500 has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. Set at 150 OHMS it's great for singing and broadcasting purposes as it was intended. 

 The die cast zinc alloy body comes with the gorgeous satin chrome finish. The screens are perfect and I replaced the inner foam pop filter as it was all but gone. You can see it's in very nice physical condition with virtually no scratches, zero dents, engravings or corrosion. Just a few small scuff marks. Very nice condition and you'll be very hard pressed to find one as nice as this. The mic is appx 7 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 inch wide at the tip and about average weight for a mic of this size. A very practical design. 

 This S-500 mic came with the longer handle that incorporated the on / off switch. The switch works just as it should with no issues.

 The hard to find original (all metal) satin chrome mic clip is included. It shows no wear and works perfectly and holds the mic snug allowing a wide degree of tilt up and down and will screw onto any desk or floor stand. 

 S-500 comes with a 12 foot cable that's in very nice condition. It has the 4 pin XLR connection for the mic. The cable is soft, pliable and in perfect working order. It has the vintage female Cannon XLR end connector. Simply attach a longer XLR cable if needed for extra reach.

 You'll see there is a nice felt mic cover in pic # 7 that is used to store the mic in when not in use. It's very soft and in excellent condition.

 The original S-500 mic case is included. It's quite large and in very nice condition. You can see it still ahs the original $95.00 retail price on the box. These were quite spendy back in the day.   You'll really appreciate having this to store the mic. Has that classic 1960's vibe as well.
