400 watts of tube power. Low mid voiced as compared to an SVT which is more high mids. I loved this head over and beyond my previous 75 SVT which had NOS GE tubes .
I just got the fan replaced at Main Drag Music in Williamsburg where it also got a thorough bench test and according to the tech, everything looked great. It’s got 8 Tung Sol KT88s and Tung Sol preamp tubes throughout from the Tube Depot…low hours with lots more life. I think the other Classic 400 that’s here on Reverb has the original Chinese tubes which are crap/prone to failure and don’t sound as good. I’m all done playing bass(having switched to synths) and at 55 have no desire to lug this mammoth around. Time to send it off to a new home with someone who really values tube bass amp heft.
