Recently built vintage style relic Stratocaster. This description is going to be very detailed and long, but in the end you will know every part and screw used. First, the parts used...
Genuine Fender 50's Stratocaster replacement neck. Made in Mexico. Heel is stamped "Genuine Fender Replacement Parts". Maple, dead straight, frets are in excellent condition. Genuine Fender synthetic bone nut. Classic vintage specs... 7.25 radius with vintage frets. Some gloss finish has been taken off the back of the neck, sanded to 8000 grit, and buffed. The idea was to have it just as smooth as a finished neck, without the "stick" of a high gloss finish. The tuners are Genuine Fender "Road Worn" vintage style aged nickel tuners, Fender Part # 0997201000. The neck mounting screws are Genuine Fender mounting screws.
Body (I'll talk about the INSANE finish in a minute) is a solid, premium Alder "Custom Class" Stratocaster style made by "Real Life Relics". Body is exactly 4lbs unloaded... The guitar fully assembled as you see it is 7.62 lbs. It has never had a tremolo back cover drilled/installed nor strap buttons.
The pickguard/pickup assembly is from a Fender Robert Cray Signature Stratocaster, Fender Part Number 0059531000. 62RI Mint Green Cray pickguard, CTS Pots. The Cray pickups already were cloth wired, the rest of the wiring was upgraded to Gavitt vintage style cloth wiring as well. The original tone cap was replaced with a Sprague PIO CAP and a treble bleed was added to the volume pot to keep the highs present as you lower your volume. The output jack used was a Pure-Tone multi-contact jack. The jack mounting cup was taken from a 2022 American Professional II Stratocaster. It was all resoldered using Cardas Quad audiophile grade silver solder. The pickguard screws used were genuine Fender USA made replacement screws. The volume/tone knobs were from a older American Standard Stratocaster.
The bridge/tremolo is a genuine Fender "Pure Vintage" Stratocaster Tremolo Assembly, made in USA, with authentic Fender "Pat. Pend." stamped saddles. Fender Part # 009-4247-049. The saddle height screws, saddle intonation adjustment screws and springs, bridge-to-body mounting screws, tremolo claw and tremolo claw screws were all replaced with Genuine Callaham parts. The original Fender Pure Vintage screws and springs and claw are bagged up and included along with the original Fender box the tremolo came in.
THE FINISH: The body was purchased from Real Life Relics already finished and aged/relic'd in what they call "Aged Irish Mist Sparkle Flake". I will tell you straight up, this finish is IMPOSSIBLE to accurately photograph. I could post 200 photos and this finish will look completely different in every photo. The finish is an aged green... Almost like a slightly faded Sherwood Green, but a VERY metallic looking base. Then on top of that is a holo-flake sparkle that refracts light into all the colors of the spectrum. Words can't even describe it. Heck, photos can't really describe it. If you change your viewing angle or lighting scenario it will look entirely different every time you look at it. From a metallic green to a chrome looking surf green sparkle, to a full on blast of every color in the rainbow. You've never seen anything quite like it. Guaranteed to get comments because it is so over the top, yet somehow just "works" on a vintage style guitar. I have included a lot of photos, including two (the last two) photos from RLR when I purchased the body.
Yeah, that was a lot to take in, I know. But now you know exactly what you are purchasing. Guitar plays and sounds wonderful (seriously) and is currently set up with Ernie Ball 10-46 nickel strings. It's a 100% ready to go, totally gig-worthy guitar assembled with some exceptional quality components. This will ship in a brand new Fender BASS gigbag just to protect it, as I am totally out of both guitar gigbags and Strat cases at the moment.
BUY IT NOW: $799 plus $49 Shipping. It will be very carefully boxed and packed. US48 sales and shipping only.
Make sure to check out my other listings for unique and special guitars.
I ship guitars Monday thru Friday only. Please allow me a day to professionally box and pack it up so your new-to-you instrument arrives exactly as it left me. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
