This is a custom-made (by me, owner of Turner Pickups) multicoil bass pickup, made to fit into a standard MM-style shaped route.
Due to the unique wiring configuration of this pickup, active electronics are highly recommended. The pickup is wired such that each row of 2 coils under each string act as a humbucker. Each humbucker under a string has a separate output. As such, they can be used with a preamp that accepts separate inputs (such as a Lusithand NFP Special: for more info, please visit . facebook. com/Lusithand or . instagram. com/lusithandevices), which is the recommended option. However, wiring all of the outputs together in parallel is a perfectly valid way to go, as well, but be aware that doing so results in an output that's on the lower side when compared to a typical modern pickup; hence, the recommendation of an active preamp. The pickup has 6 leads: 1 "hot" lead for each output (4), 1 "cold" lead (common for all outputs), and 1 lead that is the ground for the poles and for shielding.
The "multicoil" term can technically apply to any pickup that contains more than one coil. However, the term is typically reserved for pickups where one or more individual coils are used to sense the movement of a single string.
Turner Pickups' multicoils are configured with 2 coils per string. The high turn count, relative to the small size of the coils, allows for a good mix of high output and high resonant frequency. The resulting tone is punchy, rich in mids, while retaining excellent clarity.

Tech details:
Coils are wound with 42AWG wire.
Pickup utilizes a ceramic (C8) bar magnet, mild steel keepers, steel set screws for the adjustable pole pieces, and a brass baseplate.
Each output (2 coils in humbucker config) has a DC resistance of ~3.4K Ohms.
If wired with outputs joined together in parallel, the overall DC resistance comes to ~0.85K Ohms.
If you're looking for a unique sound from your MM-style bass, or other similarly equipped bass, this is pickup is for you!
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PICKUP DIMENSIONS:
This pickup is meant to drop into a standard MM-style route, but please be sure to check the depth of your route. The height of this pickup is around 1.0", so on a typical bass, the depth of the pickup route will need to be ~13/16".
Also, the pole spacing, at 0.73", will work best in the bridge position, since the poles will line up better with the strings there.
Mounting screws included.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OPTIONS:
