Nice and rare Gypsy Parlor guitar.

Made in the Champigny-sur-Marne workshop that "opened" (it was illegal at that time) in 1950, and sold almost all of its production to Paul Beuscher.

This one as a label "27 boulevard Baumarchais", which is a good indication to help dating the instrument ; in 1953 Paul Beuscher opened a new shop, just next to the first one, and therefore changed their label to "25-27 boulevard Baumarchais". So this guitar was likely produced between 1950 and 1953. The humbucker wasn't even invented at that time...

In the 50's, Busato was no longer making any instrument himself and the production was supervised by Pierre Calza.

The characteristic features of Champigny sur Marne instruments are

- Strongly arched braceless back
- Original rosette bindings
- One piece necks (mostly made by David Enesa, who build classical guitars as well as gypsy guitar, and has a very refined way of carving the necks, this one is no exception)
- White plastic dots (on the small models, sometime mother of pearl or golden dots on higher end instruments)
- Brass frets
-The finish used on Champigny guitars is glossy, as opposed to the french polish that was used in the earlier years.
On top of all this, the guitar has an ebony fretboard and stunning rosewood back and sides, that were optionnal at extra cost in the Busato catalog. Never seen another Parlor Gypsy guitar with such beautiful wood selection.

The sound of this guitar is bright and punchy, with an excellent dynamic range.

The playability of the guitar is very nice up to the 12th fret, but above that some buzzing and dead notes start to appear (but without a cutaway, it is next to impossible to reach these notes anyway , so it is not such a big issue.) To achieve an excellent playability up to the last fret, it would be necessary to make a fret or fretboard plannification.

The overall condition is very good with of course some scraches, a repaired fingerboard crack. Also the side of the bindings were painted black by a previous owner in some places

The guitar is 100% original, including the the Busato tuners, very exact same as those
