Ibanez MC924 1980 Dark Stain

It is with a heavy heart that I'm selling my beloved Ibanez MC924 bass (1980). You could pretty much say it was one of the best basses to be built in the 80s and it indeed holds up to this very day.

The MC924 went through a few different iterations between its introduction in 1979 and final version. This is the first version which featured the Super 4 single coil pickups, which I think is the best-sounding. See the pictures to find out what the knobs do. Electronics-wise, it was really ahead of its time in terms of incorporating active electronics and also being able to switch to passive mode. The fact that it also has a gain knob means you can get HUGE sounds out of it in active mode by boosting the frequencies. The bass is super comfortable to play, weighs around 4.5kg, neck profile reminiscent of a Precision bass.

Given that it's a 42-year-old bass, it has quite a few scratches and dings. For its age I would consider it to be in excellent condition, but for official Reverb selling purposes I listed it as being in 'Good' condition. The bass works and sounds absolutely as intended - truss rod, electronics, hardware, etc.

Finally, this bass will ship in its original case, which has also seen some action over the years. It is missing the locking mechanism of the middle clasp, the other two work perfectly (and the case therefore functions well).

As mentioned I will ship in the original case but also include external packaging to protect the case and its contents. Shipping will proceed swiftly and securely through FedEx International. I can ship Standard or Priority (at buyer's additional expense).
