Can't fake this mojo. Early 50s Valco made National. Awesome low wattage amp that sounds bigger than a champ and has a more even and articulate sounding drive than most little guys. This is the more uncommon version in that it has a tone control.
Just serviced, fresh filter caps, 3 prong cord, cleaned pots and jacks etc... Two new JJ 6V6, vintage rectifier and preamp tubes. New handle.
As with most speakers this old (around 70!) this one is a bit tired and has some rub. Nothing crazy and not unplayable at all. If it was a regular speaker and not a field coil I'd consider finding the best replacement and sticking it in there. But I'd rather something like this be decided by its forever owner.
