11-string ZB Custom from the mid-1970's (Tom Brumley era) 4 Pedals & 4 Knee Levers. Extended E9 setup
This is a fairly rare factory single neck w/pad (not chopped from a double neck). Everything works as it should. All pulls are well balanced and the pedals and knees are nice and smooth. It does have the original 3-tap pickup which reads 8.4K / 14.5K / 26.6K. It sounds great, like a ZB!
The finish was originally BRIGHT GREEN but has mostly faded, as you can see in the pics. A few bar dings between the neck & pad, but the finish is mostly excellent. The aluminum end plates could use polishing.
A couple unusual but original features are Schaller tuners (in good shape) and gauged rollers (with a smaller roller shaft) This was built towards the end of ZB production and there are some improvements of quality over the earlier ones.
This has an Extended E9 setup. It differs from "normal" E9 by losing the #9 "D" string and adding "E" - "G#" - "B" at the bottom. The RKR drops #8 "E" to "D" so the note is still available. Check out the chart I posted.
Pedal "0" (left of A-B-C) lowers #3 and #6 to "G". Combined with Pedal "A" you can get a nice diminished chord.
The case is also in good shape.
The ZB itself weighs 44 lbs; in the case it's 64 lbs. Shipping will be high, but I will only charge what it costs and refund the difference.
