Martin HD28V

This is a 1986 Martin Custom 15, the predecessor of the Martin HD -28V. Back in the day Martin had so many custom orders for this set of features that they finally made it a regular custom order model - later they made it the HD -28V . If you are looking for a pristine collectors grade closet queen example, this one is NOT it.

As they say, GOOD guitars get PLAYED - and this one has seen a lotta love. The finish is dull in places from contact, numerous scratches and a ding or two, professionally repaired top cracks along with a couple of loose braces re-glued.

A custom dyed bone and abalone bridge pin set to match that beautiful aged top was installed. She is set up in great playing condition with a nice V-neck and good action. The saddle is low, so a neck reset will eventually be necessary, but it could be a long time. The sound is all Martin: endless bottom with good mids and clear ringing high notes. If you’ve always wanted an HD-28V without the price of a new one and enjoy a beautiful naturally aged top (no “toner” here!) with plenty of “mojo” then this solid players piece might be the one for you!
