1969 Martin D-28 - Brazilian Rosewood
Used – Very Good
Marysville, WA, United States
Originally $11,500, now $9,500 ($2,000 price drop)

This is a nice opportunity to own and play an original solid Brazilian Rosewood Martin D-28 produced by their employees in the old Nazareth facility in 1952. The condition is very good with professional repairs that include a bridge reset, an older professional neck set and a thin clear overspray on the neck and on the headstock to preserve the decal.  The cosmetic condition is good and shows very minor playing wear from it's years of use. The playability is very good and the sound is amazing with ALL the resonance, clarity, presence, and bottom you would expect from the solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with the beautiful Spruce top. This Martin includes a newer original Martin case.

In the early days of Martin factory production a veteran employee was allowed to build a guitar for their personal use, with other employees noted for their expertise, on their own time - in the factory with all Martin factory materials. This is the case with this rare gem. A nice addition to the D-28 standard features that this person decided to add was the beautiful snowflake inlays on the fingerboard. The date of completion (January 1952) is stamped on the neck block. This is a consignment instrument and serious offers will be considered, for it's new home. Please make an appointment to talk to John, at our shop, about the details or any questions you may have. Because of the rarity of this guitar and high collector value, local pickup is offered for it. Any arrangements for possible shipping will be at the responsibility and expense of the buyer.
