Hard to find Ibanez 540S7. This is the first 7 string Ibanez S model. This model with two single coils that was only made in 1991 and 1992.

Guitar is light as you would expect an S to be even with the big trem. Plays and sounds great. No functional or sonic issues. Neck is straight and frets are good.

Guitar has been played a lot and has a lot of cosmetic wear. I believe it was someone's main gigging guitar and they installed a MIDI pickup (which has since been removed) but the bridge pickup ring was cut to make room for the MIDI pickup. The finish on the body is like rippled. No trem cavity cover or truss rod cover.

When I got it, the Dimarzio Blaze single coils produced sound but they were very weak and metering them showed no resistance. I replaced them with a Seymour Duncan SSL1-7 in the middle and an MJ wound Seymour Duncan Custom Shop alnico 2 noiseless single coil in the neck position. Original Blazes are included if you want to restore them.

Comes with the pictured non-original Ibanez hard shell case.

If you are in NYC, you are welcome to come check it out.
