This one was a bit of a project. This she’ll was found in the dumpster behind Rupps drums, with splintered bearing edges on both sides, and a large puncture in the side. The shell was 18” deep but the edges were cut, bringing the depth to 14”. Bearing edges were done by hand with an orbital sander and various grades of sandpaper, and Pearl Export EXX hardware was added. Nothing is perfect on this drum but it still sounds decent and functions properly. Climbing rope was tied on to create a marching strap. This is a great kick-around drum that could be used for walking gigs, acoustic sets, or stripped down settings where you need something for rythmn. Embrace your American Authors enthusiasm today!
