Up for sale is a brand new Gretsch USA Custom Masterbuilt G6120CS built to 1959 Specifications, and it's perhaps one of the finest examples of the 6120 ever made.

This guitar is phenomenal in every facet of design - from the precision of its handmade build to its incredible voice, this Gretsch is perfect for players who demand the utmost quality in their instruments. Its tone is warm and woody with exceptional definition across the entire frequency range, just like a genuine vintage hollow body, and the bass notes ring out with a delightfully deep and 'thumpy' resonance. The mid and high frequencies are very present and punchy yet not brittle, making it an excellent choice for just about any performance setting. It also has a remarkable amount of sustain for a hollow body, courtesy of its perfectly sculpted trestle bracing. Simply put, the power and clarity of this guitar's tone is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

When plugged in, the voice of this G6120CS is clean and articulate, with a tight bass response and crystal clear highs. The humbucking TV Jones Classic pickups offer very low noise and sound fantastic clean, but when pushed with some overdrive, they bark and snarl quite nicely. Whether you're playing rock, jazz, blues, or anything in between, this beauty sounds fantastic.

Not only is its sound impeccable, but this Masterbuilt G6120CS offers a perfectly balanced feel and effortless playability across the entire ebony fretboard. The neck sports a fat "C" shape with a less tapered shoulder and a slightly flatter curve on the back than most modern Gretsch's, giving it a substantial and sturdy feel that doesn't seem bulky at all.

Perhaps the most captivating aspect of this guitar is the obsessive level of authenticity achieved by the Gretsch Custom shop. For example, the bridge base has a more dramatic sloping carve than current models, and the thumbwheels are thicker with wider knurling. Its finish has been gently aged and the hardware has been lightly relic'd as well, giving it a gorgeous aesthetic and a nice worn-in feel. Upon closer inspection, you'll find nearly imperceptible finish checking and wear that makes this guitar indistinguishable from an authentic vintage Gretsch.

This guitar will ship as shown in the photos, along with a nice assortment of Gretsch Custom Shop goodies, including: a boutique strap by El Dorado, an embroidered canvas utility bag, a Gretsch Custom Shop patch and sticker, reissue style documents, a polishing cloth, and the certificate of authenticity. It also comes with the 50's reissue style G6273 Western hard case by TKL, and it's an incredibly well-made case. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about this masterfully crafted guitar!
