Freedom Custom Guitar Research was established in 1998 with the concept of "pursuing guitar making with free ideas.
The company has a factory in Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, and is a Japanese high-end guitar brand that has earned a high reputation for its high-quality original guitars with well-thought-out construction.
The guitar we have just received is one of the "Retorospective series," which is produced based on traditional specifications, and was finished in the image of the 1958-59 model, which was the last model with a maple fretboard.
The 2-piece alder body and maple 1-piece neck are bolted on, painted in matte finish, and the parts have been processed to plaid specs.
Jescar #43080-NS frets were selected instead of the original F.C.G.R stainless steel frets.
The sound has a good vintage tone with a clear and clear pronunciation and a fat and britty tone that is typical of PBs.
The tone is also very effective, and it is a perfect match for flatwound strings.
