After 50 years in Aerosmith, and a lifetime infatuation with guitars and amps, Brad Whitford accumulated so much gear that it’s overflowing his warehouse. He used this gear to create some of the most iconic rock and roll of our time. He selected over 170 of his precious guitars, amps and speakers and asked my help in finding them new homes with players and fans who will appreciate them as much as he does. Handmade by master luthier Gerard Melancon. Melancon guitars are renown for their amazing sound and ease of play. Brad began a relationship with Gerard Melancon in 2002 that would result in Gerard building 3 him guitars. Live photos courtesy of the Melancon family archive. This Melancon Strat was one of Brad Whitford's "Go-To" guitars in the early 2000s. It can be seen extensively in Aerosmith's 2004 full length concert DVD You Gotta Move. Brad's black guitar strap seen in the photos is included. See and hear this guitar in the video below.
Acquired directly from Brad Whitford. Brad’s guitar tech personally inspected the guitar. He adjusted the neck, polished the frets, oiled the fretboard, sprayed the pots and installed new strings. The guitar is in excellent working condition with no notable issues. The guitar is identified by an Aerosmith inventory tag on the headstock. It includes a hardshell case, one of Brad’s custom Aerosmith guitar pics and a certificate of authenticity signed by Brad Whitford.
