Entirely handmade by luthier Patrick Fontenot of Idell Customs in Louisiana. This beautiful custom Telecaster style guitar has a Gibson 24.75” scale neck with reverse headstock and semi-hollowbody construction and is entirely hand-built and shaped from locally sourced alder and maple. This guitar has a set neck as opposed to the standard Tele bolt-on neck and was shaped to match the neck profile of my vintage 1958 Les Paul Jr. The neck on this guitar is AMAZING - a nice full C profile that fills the hand perfectly. The nut width is 1.72” and the profile measures .865” at the first fret and .965 at the 12th fret. The action is set nice and low and the neck finish is a beautiful satin oil finish that is super fast.
The body is inspired by the semi-hollow, f-hole adorned Telecaster Thinline so it is very light. The body finish is Shell Pink with Ebony sides and back. The body is double bound with pearloid binding as is the f-hole. The guitar was built with excellent components. At the neck is a Gretsch style TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity pickup in nickel finish and a Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickup at the bridge.
This is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind custom guitar built by a master craftsman to exacting standards. It looks beautiful and plays like a dream. And this is the only one.
