Allen (Made in Houston, Tx) 2 x 12 Speaker Cabinet Late 60’s-70’s Black

Popular speaker cabinet company, located in Houston,Texas. Heyday was in the 1960’s and 1970’s, where they were widely used by many performing bands in the area. Company became a popular speaker reconing and amp repair shop in the decades following. For many years, it was quite common to see Allen speaker cab’s for sale in local guitar shops throughout the 80’s, 90’s, & 00’s. Seems all these years later, they have become very rare and hard to find. Considered quite vintage, the mere sight of that ‘ALLEN - Houston’ faceplate still evokes fond memories from its loyal fans.
This particular cab is solid, top to bottom. Absolutely no structural issues of any kind. Only cosmetically is it showing it’s age, from the torn grill cloth (that is still very, very tight by the way), to the scars, scrapes, and indentions all around. 2-12” speakers are clearly non-original…a Celestion G12H-80 and a Peavey Blue Marvel. The input jack plate has been changed and the wiring is homemade, but all works. Missing some back panel screws, but still holds tight with the ones remaining. It’s not pretty, but it’s functional and super solid. Weighs in at 49 lbs.
