Guild X-79 Skyhawk 1981 SN; AD100005
The X-79 SKYHAWK was made between 1981 and 1985. The Guild X-79 had a futuristic asymmetrical mahogany body with set mahogany neck. Pickups were two Guild XR-7 humbuckers controlled by two volume, one tone controls and a 3-way selector switch. Coil tap or phase switch were optional. According to Guild production figures, 1790 were made in total.
24.75 inches scale-length, Guild XR-7 Humbucker pickup(s),mahogany body, ebony fingerboard, 1.65 inches wide at nut
This one has an amazing array of finish cracks. This does not effect the structure of the guitar. The frets are fat and flat and fast. Very fast. The sustain is crazy. I just played the lead melody to American Woman with no effects, just amp overdrive, and is sustained for days. A rocking guitar. It’s been around, as you an see. But this is a solid unit at an affordable price.
