About This Listing

Gitane D-500 Professional Gypsy jazz guitar in very good condition.  Made by Saga guitars (see their web site for manufacturer's info).  I purchased this used so don't know the year of manufacture.

Comes with an installed sound-hole pickup.

Includes an extra bridge, which was described on the package (see photo) as "Old Macaferi Super Low Bridge." It's approximately 10.90 mm at the tallest height. This is installed on the guitar.

The other is a Dupont Size #0 (approx. 12.35 mm at the tallest height).

One flaw: You can't tell from the photos, but the shaft of the G-string tuning peg is slightly crooked. When you turn it, you can see this. But it still works fine.

There is a hole for the strap lock beneath the heel of the neck, which I'm not sure was one the original guitar, but I've seen others with this as well. (see photo).

  • Authentic Gypsy Jazz shape and dimensions with 12th fret neck joint
  • Solid Sitka spruce top with traditional large D-shaped soundhole creates a warm and ambient Gypsy Jazz sound
  • Santos rosewood back and sides guarantee deep bass and strong cutting power
  • Low profile mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard provides fast, easy action
  • Traditional brass tailpiece and ebony compensated mustache bridge, perfect for the Django Reinhardt enthusiast

  • Note on shipping. $125 is the average rate. Depending on your location, this might be lower, and I will charge you the actual shipping rate.
