Made in 1964
This is an Ampeg Burns "WILD DOG" that was produced for only two years from 1963 to 1965.
In the 60s, electric guitar brands all over the world were engaged in friendly competition, and each company was introducing its own ideas.
Each manufacturer developed their own circuits, pickups, tremolo units, and other unique products that cannot be seen today.
WILD DOG is one of them.
You can feel the passion of the developers at that time in every part of this historical guitar.
It looks like a simple 3PU, but it has the tone of a Telecaster at its core.
The unique position of the SPLIT SOUND and WILD DOG gives it a one-of-a-kind sound.
The neck is quite slim and thin with a slim taper, and probably a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.
The frets are thin and flattened, giving the neck a slightly bizzare feel.
The arm action is somewhat soft and smooth, but there is a zero fret, which can cause some deviation under hard playing.
The neck is acceptably forward warped. The rod requires a special dedicated wrench and cannot be adjusted at this time.
It will be delivered in its current condition.
Wild Dog" is full of MID60s character.
If you are interested, please give it a try.
