About This Listing

The Strymon Flint is the magic combination of a tremolo and reverb to recreate to perfection this part of his legendary amps of the 60 ", but also the most reverbs characteristics of the '70s and' 80s Strymon Flint.

California geeks at back with Strymon Flint, 9th foot range! They have this time developed a pedal capable of reproducing a wide range of sounds mythical part of the "guitar culture" of each of us! What is it? The magical combination of tremolo and reverb to recreate to perfection this part of his legendary amps of the 60 ", but also the most typical reverb of '70s and' 80s. Thus 3 types of tremolos ('60 period) and 3 types of reverbs ('60, '70 and '80) in a same box!

Aesthetically, the Flint takes the usual design brand, brushed aluminum case, compact and lightweight, large buttons easy to turn, etc ...

Flint is divided into two separate tranches. A dedicated Reverb, Tremolo to the other. Each effect being switchable independently and can be routed in any order desired. One can thus switch the reverb before tremolo or vice versa, this being an essential characteristic to recreate the sound if particular circuits tremolo and reverb these periods.

3 Type Tremolos are available, the '61 harmonic (early 60, dual-band filtering, complex effect with differences in harmonic content based on the LFO), the '63 power Tube (acts on the bias of the power tubes, mild effect, slightly dirty) and finally the '65 Photocell (mid 60, more marked effect and extreme operating with a variable resistor). We can control the intensity and speed for each mode.

As for reverbs, there is a choice between a typical '60 Reverb, based on the best spring reverbs with his "doiiiinnng" characteristic 😉 The second mode is a digital type Plate reverb, typed '70, using digital delay lines. A rich, smooth reverb with very quick response. The last mode is a Hall reverb type recreating the best of rack effects used in major studios during the '80s. A complex reverb to slower response and marked.

Secondary functions are also implemented. We can therefore access a +/- 3dB boost for both effects so dissociated. The pedal also has a very complete connectivity. Stereo in / out, true-bypass (trails mode) and an input for connecting a Favorite switch, an expression pedal (control parameters on the fly) or an external tap tempo. There or the BlueSky offers a spacialisation "3D" colossal with tablecloths, modulations, shimmer and full interaction with the different types of reverb. The Flint works, her nuanced and allows subtle control the effect by playing on the differences in complexity / dynamics and colors, depending on the selected mode. The tremolos work in total symbiosis with various reverbs and allow the creation of atmospheres and "backgrounds" light and complex sound, or just a simple back plane effect we leave constantly activated. Flint is impressive density and realism and proves to be much more than a tremolo / reverb is a real composition tool! 9V power supply
