Early 1930's UNIVERSAL BB Carbon Ring Spring Microphone w/Stand & Cable-working!

Offering a vintage and rare early 1930's UNIVERSAL BB Carbon Double-Button Ring-Spring Microphone, tested and working. Universal was located in Inglewood California, near Hollywood, and were quite popular until the dynamic and ribbon microphones came on the scene. This type of mic was the standard in the earliest days of capturing, recording and transmitting voice, and at best sounded similar to telephone quality.
The Universal element is mounted on a gorgeously chromed (and original) 6" ring and fluted Allied Radio desk stand, measuring 7.5" in width, with adjustable height from 17-21". The stand's chromed base and riser tube are in remarkable condition with barely any sign of wear, with a weighted internal piece to secure a super stable platform. The carbon element is suspended by 8 springs and wired to its original cloth-insulated cable...shows signs of aging. (All carbon mics require external DC power. This one has been tested and is functional, but quality is similar to telephone quality...very low-fi. They very rarely come around looking this good and working as well...would be a prized addition to any serious vintage microphone collection. ** Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping.
