Wilburn Custom Shop Stratocaster Stratocaster 2005 Gold

2005 Wilburn Custom Stratocaster made in the USA at Wilburn Custom shop in WA. This fine strat is well made and plays fantastic. Nice gold top finish with black pearloid pick guard and chrome and black hardware. Guitar was made in 2005 and it's signed and dated by the maker on the back of headstock. I believe they sign and date all their custom shop guitars. Great action and a nice setup. No case included but if you would like a case I can add one for 60.00 additional. Made in the USA.

I just found out some additional info on the guitar after talking with the builder. This is what he said after I asked if he could confirm this is one of his custom builds:

Yup, that was made by yours truly (I'm Scott). Wow, good to see the old girl. That one was built using Kent Armstrong P-90 pickups, the body was poplar, and I used a GraphTech bridge, and it sold for around $800-1000 new. Although it is Christened "VersaTare" it is really a one-of-a-kind instrument, since I make every instrument individually, and change spec's on each guitar as a new inspiration hits me. The VersaTare name goes on any Strat body guitar I build using non-standard electronics (like this guitar’s P-90 circuit.) Pretty rare, since in 2005 I probably made less than 100 guitars total, and probably less than 25 VersaTares. The fact that I signed that one indicates I must have made it for someone in particular, rather than just one of my random builds, but I don’t have records from that far back, since that old Mac computer died years ago, and I didn’t have backups for the data.

Good to see it is in such good shape, and appears all-original. How's the action and setup? Always good to see one of my "kids."
