Martin Sigma DM-3M Acoustic Guitar

Vintage 1983/84: Martin's "Sigma DM-3M" Acoustic Guitar This is a very beautiful vintage Sigma DM-3M acoustic guitar made by Martin Guitar in good condition. The D stands for the dreadnought shape and the 'M' stands for mahogany as opposed to the 'S' models which are spruce . No cracks, no loose joints, no rattles, no buzzes and only normal playing marks. There is a slight indentation on the lower end of the fretboard. The Sigma program was initiated by Martin in 1970, and Sigma guitars were manufactured in Japan (later in Korea and Taiwan). Each Sigma instrument was inspected and adjusted by Martin personnel before going to the authorized retail store for retail sale. In 1979 Sigma identified their dreadnought and grand concert guitars as "Second Generation" and their headstock design changed to a gold decal stating "Sigma Guitars" with "Est. 1970" underneath, in the familiar Martin headstock decal form such as the one on the headstock of this guitar. From what I understand, this Sigma could have been made just when manufacturing moved to Korea. Some Sigma guitars can be difficult to 'date' because there were many variations of where parts were made between the US, Japan.

It had a professional style set-up which includes:
Setting the neck to specification and the bridge height for better action (playability). Includes new D’Addario 80/20 bronze lights; .011-.052 for a bright tone. The fingerboard has been cleaned and conditioned and the frets have been polished. The mahogany finish has normal playing marks and is good condition and also sounds amazing. A deluxe Levy padded gig bag is included. A second set of tuners is included which are not original but an upgrade to these older stock tuners.
