Epiphone Humingbird Artist Custom Shop Limited Edition Red Mahogany

Do you love a Gibson Hummingbird but can't afford one. If you are buying used equipment you've got to be careful of the counterfeits out there, lots of Chinese Chibson's out there sold as original Humingbirds. Why not own an affordable version that plays great and you know what you're getting. Epiphone used to advertise "I couldn't afford an expensive guitar so instead I bought a great guitar." That is the case with this instrument. I made one change when I got it and that was to install a new Graphtech Tusq bridge in the saddle. Big change to the tone and now the sound just punches through the mix. This is a Custom Shop Limited Edition model that was produced in Indonesia, not the Chinese factory. Some great instruments come from Indonesian craftsmen. The top is solid spruce with mahogany back and sides. The tuners are silky smooth and very good quality. I am adding a used jumbo case to the sale to protect the instrument during shipping but it was not with the instrument originally. It is a high quality case that someone covered in stickers at some time. The Hummingbird is known for it's voicing to be compatible with singers and this is no exception. Most of the tone comes from midrange and treble with a very fine base tone but not the booming tone of a jumbo or grand concert. I played it live on an acoustic set one time in a crowded room. I mic'd the guitar and it performed great. This is one you will be proud to own and the colors just pop out of the guitar. This would be easy to convert to an acoustic electric. I played with a Dimarzio DP138 Sound hole pickup amplified (the only sound hole pickup I will use) and it sounded great with very little feed back. THe DiMarzio pickup is available from Sam Ash in Nashville but not included with this sale.
