Meet Dick! This one owner 1978 P Bass was bought new by Dick in 1978 and played for the rest of his life until we acquired it. How do you know it's his? Well, his name and SSN are engraved on the neck plate and on the center case latch! This one has the honest play wear of over 40 years of being a daily driver including some killer belt buckle wear and some nice forearm wear to show you exactly how he played it (he apparently backed up Conway Twitty a few times, so it's even lightly dusted in country legend). That all is cool, but what's truly wonderful is it's a late 70s Fender Bass under 9lbs! It's cozy 8.6lbs feels great and balanced on a strap and won't make you feel fatigued after long sets as much as some other basses can do. The pickup is nice and strong and the old flatwounds on it give an authoritative thump. The neck isn't as huge as some of the early 60s Brian Wilson specs, but also still bigger than a Jazz for a nice Goldilocks size that's just right. If you were looking for a quintessential workingman's instrument, you'd be hard pressed to do any better than this. It's all original, has been set up for great playing, and includes OHSC
